Tech Week

October 16th – 20th, 2017

“The week before the show – production and technical manager Fi Johnstone, assisted by Marissa Ferguson as stage manager, myself and Katie and Daisy, along with ‘outside eye’ Luke Pell, and MJ McCarthy working on sound with us, spend the week setting up and testing out the technical aspects of the show, the audience flow, the hosting aspects, the tap shoe set-up, the dressing of the space, movement from room to room, dressing room organisation and the final reveal of the Empire Rooms from three smaller rooms to one magnificent long room. Doreen and June join us on the final day for a full run-through in the set-up space. There is a lot of detail to hold and things to tend to. If we want to challenge and defy limited and limiting expectations of older people dancing, and of their value, then this is what we have to do. It is going to be exceptional!” – Janice Parker
