The Walls Come Alive

October 21st, 26th & 28th, 2017

We are sold out! All 3 shows! There is still a huge demand for tickets, even a personal letter to Paul HUdson to pleade for one from the Festival Theatre, to plead for one. The excitement is palpable. We opened our dress run to an invited audience and this helped ease the ticket situation a bit. Our audiences are small, deliberately so, as we want to maximise the intimacy and sense that they are sitting in the presence of the women and able to share their company, but still, we had no idea that there would be this much demand. These were glorious days, beyond all of our expectations. Hitting the right note of hosting (with prosecco of course) balanced with performance, and to top it all Marie was with us! Only 6 weeks after breaking her hip! What a trouper! All the women are proud, amazed and left the building with a sense of their value. Thanks to all the support from the Festival Theatre and for believing in us. As one staff member was heard to say; “the walls have come alive”, meaning that the framed posters and playbills from the Empire Theatre days, that we danced amongst today, have a direct connection to the women, not only then but now, here today in the present. – Janice Parker
