Season three begins with us talking about what we would like to achieve, how we would like to spend our time. Our list includes to work more on Festival Theatre’s archive, invite Jackie Dennis back to meet with us, and Jack Gillon from Lost Edinburgh, invite dancer Liz Lumsden to give us a step dance lesson in exchange for a tap lesson, invite the Trewitt Sisters (both have come to all our events and have a vast knowledge of Variety Theatre) to join us one Monday, and to continue hosting workshops for the folks from Glencairn.
We have also got our podcasts to make. Festival Theatre’s Dawn Irvine has commissioned us to make a series of podcasts for her work in Care Homes’; ‘The HeyDays of Variety Theatre’ – A new venture for us. Time to get busy planning and scripting. – Janice Parker
